A new app ‘Mera Bacha Alert’ is launched to recover missing children

In order to counter this problem, the government of KPK has launched an app. The name of the app is ‘Mera Bacha Alert’. It has been initiated  by the Chief Minister Mehmood Khan. The main purpose of this app is to assist people and departments concerned for the recovery of missing children across the province. According to an official, this application is an addition to the already existing KPK citizen portal. It would also be included in the Pakistan’s Citizens portal. Chief Minister praised the Performance Management and Reforms Unit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in developing this important application. He further added that it is the top priority of the government to ensure protection of the children. It would enable the parents to register a report if their child goes missing. They will be able to add a picture of the missing child along with his/her attributes.The application will generate alerts and SMS. These would be sent to the district police officer, RPO, IGP and chief secretary. Further actions including registration of FIR, start of investigation, dispatching of team, evidence collection and completion of investigation would pop up on the dashboard of district police officer. An archive of all the cases will be made and can be monitored by chief minister. This is a very good initiative taken by the KP government. All other provinces must follow the same footprints.
