Telenor Pakistan Becomes the First Telco to Receive ISO 45001 Certification for Occupational Health & Safety

Responsible businesses worldwide are adopting policies that are friendly towards their employees as well as the environment. Such precautionary certifications are becoming a vital need as they allow to systematically minimize the probability of accident, illness, injury or fatality caused by workplace hazards. Said Kamal Ahmed, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Telenor Pakistan. Telenor Pakistan has been a pioneer in adopting sustainability best practices and has received a number of ISO certifications including ISO 14001 Certification for effective Environmental Management System in 2017, ISO 9001:2015 for improved Customer Satisfaction in 2016, and the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification for Information Security Management System (ISMS) for mobile banking services in 2010, and now adding the ISO 45001: Occupational Health and Safety precautions to its arsenal. This forward-looking policy is a trend setter for other organizations to follow suit and introduce a ‘morale boosting’ approach, resulting in efficient employee output, by providing a sense of security to the employees.
